As the year enters into the summer and the holiday season closely ahead, the gaming sphere awaits some of the most anticipated video games.

1) Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

Regardless of the entire Konami disaster with series creator Hideo Kojima, the Metal Gear franchise still looks better than ever. It is reportedly assumed to be the last entry in the series—for real this time, due to Kojima’s possible departure from Konami as soon as the game launches. The Phantom Pain takes place after the events of Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes, where the legendary soldier Naked Snake, aka: Big Boss resumes his deep investigation during an era of the rising threat of metal gear and advanced war tactics. The stealthy espionage motif will take precedence as the game enters the trend of the “open world” mechanic. What better way to exploit military combat and stealth with the ability to freely explore the world of Metal Gear? The Phantom Pain is planned for a September 1st release.

2) Super Mario Maker

Nintendo will loosen the reins on its most beloved franchise and give creative control to the players. Design the very levels that the Mario brothers will play in. Gamers have been clamoring for a new installment since the Ps2 era and finally they will be able to relive some of the most famous battles in the Star Wars universe in full upscale detail.
